Hi everyone 💜 I’m super new to yoga (like… 3 weeks in). I’ve been following YouTube classes and a couple studio drop-ins, and I’m realizing some poses feel sketchy for my wrists/neck and I’m not sure if that’s normal “stretch” or a sign to stop.
I’m not trying to rush into advanced stuff, I just want to avoid common beginner mistakes and not injure myself. Are there specific yoga poses beginners should avoid (or be extra careful with), especially if you’re tight in hamstrings/hips and have weak core? Also, if a pose is “avoid,” what’s a safer alternative/modification?
Context: I sit at a desk all day, tight shoulders, and I’m not very flexible. Any advice appreciated—trying to keep this a safe-space and not feel embarrassed in class 🙈
