Hi everyone, I’m pretty new to yoga (about 2 months). I started for posture and stress, but in class teachers keep mentioning “yoga philosophy” and I honestly don’t know what that means. Is it like a religion, or just a mindset? I’m not trying to join anything, but I do like how I feel after class and I’m curious what the “real yoga” part is beyond the poses.
If someone asked you “what is yoga philosophy?” how would you explain it in a normal way? And are there any beginner-friendly ideas to practice it in daily life (without becoming super intense about it)?
