I keep seeing the phrase “yoga for nervous system balance” and I’m not sure what people actually mean by it.
For context: I’m not looking for super intense workouts right now. I’ve been feeling kind of wired-but-tired lately (work stress, doomscrolling, sleeping light). Sometimes I’m calm, then suddenly I’m anxious for no reason.
So when someone says yoga can “balance your nervous system,” is that just a poetic way to say it helps you relax? Or is there a specific type of yoga / breathing that targets this? I’d love a simple explanation and what a realistic beginner-friendly practice looks like. Also: when should you NOT try to self-manage and instead talk to a professional?
