I keep hearing the phrase “yoga embodiment practice” in classes and on podcasts, but I’m not sure what it actually means. Is it just another way to say “do the poses,” or is it more like mindfulness/meditation?
For context: I’ve been doing yoga on and off for about a year. Sometimes I feel really “in my body” and grounded after class, and other times I’m just thinking about whether my alignment looks right or if I’m doing it wrong. I’m also not super flexible, so I tend to get in my head.
If someone asked you to define yoga embodiment practice, how would you explain it in plain English? And what are a couple beginner-friendly ways to practice it (without needing to be advanced)?
