Hi everyone, I keep seeing “intuitive yoga” in class descriptions and reels, but I’m not fully sure what it means.
For context: I’ve done a bit of vinyasa and some yin at home from YouTube. Sometimes following a strict sequence feels good, but other days I’m tired or anxious and I end up pausing, stretching something else, or just breathing in child’s pose. That’s when I wonder if I’m “doing it wrong” or if that’s basically what intuitive yoga is.
Is intuitive yoga just freestyle yoga? Is it still a real practice, or more like listening to your body and choosing poses based on how you feel that day? If anyone can explain what intuitive yoga is (and how to do it safely without making stuff up), I’d really appreciate it.
