Hi everyone 💜 I keep seeing “chakra balancing yoga” on studio schedules and YouTube, and I’m not totally sure what it actually means in practice.
I’m not new-new to yoga (I do a couple classes a week), but I’ve mostly done basic vinyasa and some yin. Lately I’ve been feeling kind of “off”: busy mind, low motivation, and my shoulders/neck feel tight all the time. A friend said chakra balancing yoga might help because it’s more focused on energy and calming the nervous system.
So… what is chakra balancing yoga exactly? Is it just certain poses with a theme, or is there a specific method (breathing, chanting, meditation)? And what would a typical class look like? I’m curious but I don’t want to walk in expecting something totally different 😅
