Hi everyone, I’m totally new to yoga and I keep seeing “beginner friendly yoga” on apps and studio schedules, but I’m not sure what that actually means.
For context: I’m not very flexible, I sit at a desk all day, and when I tried a random YouTube flow once I felt lost (too fast, lots of terms I didn’t know, and my wrists didn’t love it). I’m not trying to do crazy poses, I just want something gentle that helps with stiffness and stress, and I don’t want to feel embarrassed in class.
So what makes a yoga class “beginner friendly”? Is it about the pace, the poses, the teacher explaining more, or a specific style (like Hatha vs Vinyasa vs Yin)? Also any tips for what to look for in a first class would be super appreciated.
