I’ve been doing yin yoga 2–3 times a week for a month (mostly at home with YouTube). Physically I expected tight hips and long holds, but emotionally it’s been… surprising. Some days I feel calm and almost dreamy, other days I get irritated in the first few minutes, and twice I got teary for no clear reason during hip openers. After class I usually feel lighter, but sometimes also kind of raw.
So I’m wondering: what are the emotional stages of yin yoga? Like, is there a typical “sequence” of feelings people go through (resistance → release → peace), or is that just influencer talk? I’m not trying to force anything, I just want to understand what’s normal and how to stay grounded if emotions come up.
