Hi everyone! I’m 43 and I’ve noticed my hips/hamstrings and shoulders feel way tighter than they used to. I’m not trying to do crazy Instagram poses, I just want to move better, sit/stand without stiffness, and feel more comfortable in my body.
I’ve done a little bit of yoga on and off (mostly random YouTube videos), but I’m confused about which style is actually best for flexibility after 40. Yin? Hatha? Vinyasa? Restorative? I also get a bit nervous about hurting my lower back if I push too hard.
If you’re over 40 (or teach people over 40), what styles helped you become more flexible safely? And how often did you practice to notice changes? Any beginner-friendly suggestions are welcome.
