Hi everyone, I’m pretty new to yoga (like… I’ve done a few YouTube classes and one studio class). I’m dealing with on-and-off lower back pain from sitting at a desk all day, and sometimes my upper back feels tight too.
I’m not looking for anything intense or “advanced.” I just want the best beginner yoga poses for back pain that are safe and actually feel good. I also get nervous because some poses (like forward folds) sometimes make me feel worse, and I don’t know if I’m doing them wrong or if I should avoid them.
Do you have a small list of beginner-friendly poses or a short routine? Any breathing cues or props you recommend (blocks, bolster, pillow)? And when would you say it’s better to stop and ask a physio/doctor?
Thanks—this forum feels like a safe place to ask without feeling dumb.
