I’ve been going to the gym on and off for years (mostly weights + a bit of treadmill), but lately I’m honestly burnt out by the whole vibe and the time it takes. I started doing yoga at home 3–4x/week (mostly beginner vinyasa and some stretching) and I feel calmer, my back feels better, and I actually look forward to it.
Now I’m wondering: can yoga replace the gym completely? I’m not trying to be a bodybuilder, but I do want to feel strong, keep a decent shape, and not lose muscle. Also I sit at a desk all day and I’m trying to fix posture/neck tension.
If anyone switched from gym to yoga (or does both), what changed for you? Do you think yoga is “enough” for strength and health, or do you still need weights/cardio? I’d love realistic opinions, not influencer stuff.
