I’ve been doing yoga on and off for a few months (mostly YouTube, sometimes a studio class) and I keep hearing that it “improves mindfulness.” I get the idea in theory, but I’m not sure what I’m supposed to notice.
Like, during class I can focus on the teacher’s voice and my breath… but the second I’m back on my phone or stuck in traffic, my mind is everywhere again. Does yoga actually help mindfulness in daily life, or is it only “mindful” while you’re on the mat?
If it does help, what style or habits made the biggest difference for you (breathwork, slow flows, meditation after, journaling, etc.)? I’m trying to find something realistic I can stick to without turning it into another thing to be “good at.”
