I’ve been thinking about starting yoga because my self esteem has been really low lately. It’s not just “I don’t like my body” (though that’s part of it), it’s also this constant feeling that I’m not doing things right, like I take up too much space, or I’m behind everyone else.
I work at a desk and I’m stressed a lot. Some days I avoid social stuff because I feel awkward in my own skin. I see people saying yoga “changed their life” and made them confident, but I don’t know if that’s real or just social media.
Can yoga actually help with self esteem in a realistic way? If yes, what kind of yoga or habits helped you (classes vs at home, breathing, meditation, etc.)? Also: I’m a beginner and I’m low-key scared I’ll feel embarrassed in a class.
