Hi everyone, I’m Lia. I’ve had migraines on and off for years (usually 1–3 times a month, sometimes with nausea and light sensitivity). I’m noticing stress and poor sleep seem to trigger them, plus neck/shoulder tension from working at a laptop all day. A friend suggested yoga, but I’m unsure if it’s actually helpful for migraines or if certain poses could make it worse (like anything with head down).
I’m not looking for a “cure,” just something that might reduce frequency or intensity, or help me manage stress and tension. If you’ve tried yoga for migraines: what styles worked (yin, hatha, restorative, hot yoga?) and what should I avoid? Also, do breathing exercises help during an attack, or is it better only as prevention? I’m already following my doctor’s plan, just curious about adding yoga safely.
